The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, also called “AME”, is an important position in the operations department of Aircraft Maintenance the guidelines of which are mandated by the DGCA under the Aircraft Act 1934.
As per the rules laid by the Government of India, “No aircraft can take off without the certification from a qualified maintenance engineer”. To become an AME one has to complete an AME course from a DGCA-approved Institute.
